Crib Gymnastics and Other Adventures

Sarah can roll from her back to her stomach! So far she has done it three times, all in her crib in the middle of the night so I haven't actually seen it yet. I have seen her try plenty, though. After she rolls over, she gets stuck and cries because she doesn't even like being on her tummy, and then I find her on her tummy.

She is also learning how her arms and legs work. She can kick her feet to make her bouncy seat play music, and she can hold onto small things and bring them to her mouth (clothes, rattles, her fist, etc---she wants to lick everything these days!)What a smart girl!

Shots!

Sarah had her two-month check up yesterday. She had to get 4 shots and drink some medicine, none of which thrilled her--she screamed for a few minutes but then fell asleep on the way out to the car after it was over. She is growing just fine. She now weighs 10 lb 12 oz (49th percentile) and is 23 inches (75th percentile). We went to Mimi and Pawpaw's for the first time last weekend. Mimi's friend Sue gave me a baby shower and luncheon at a little Tea Room in Greenville. It was a lot of fun, and Sarah got to make her grand appearance at the end of the shower. She has so many new clothes to grow into and toys to look forward to playing with!

Sarah's New Smile

Sarah has been smiling consistently for several weeks now--wahoo! It is so much fun to make funny faces and talk to her and see her whole face light up in a smile. She even has a little half-laugh that is really funny. Watching Sarah smile makes all of the stressful all-nighters she pulls totally worthwhile :-)

Beach Trip

Our family spent the last week in Destin, FL with Jeremy's parents, and we all had a great time. Sarah was quite well behaved for the car rides there and back, though we had to make a few more stops than usual. Somehow we actually managed the seven hour drive home with only two stops, though--yay Sarah! She loved going on the beach and watching the ocean, and she wasn't sure what to think when her feet touched the water :-) Although "vacationing" with an infant wasn't quite like any other vacation I have ever been on, we were grateful to spend time with Mimi and Pawpaw (and Mimi and Pawpaw were grateful to spend time with Sarah, so mommy and daddy did get some much needed time off now and then).
